Cellulose nanofiber
Cellulose Nano Fiber
Cellulose nanofiber is a state-of-the-art biomass material made from plant fibers that have been broken down to the nanoscale.
TENTOK produces and utilizes this cutting-edge biomass material by making full use of its 70 years of accumulated papermaking technology.
We are working to develop and manufacture the next generation of environmentally friendly materials.
Product name 01 Cellulofibril
Slurry-type cellulose fiber with both a cost advantage and mass producibility
Cellulofibril is a slurry of cellulosic material made from cellulose fibers that have been micronized by the "beating" process, which is an application of papermaking technology. Based on the papermaking know-how that TENTOK has cultivated over the years, the paper is manufactured using a mechanical process that does not use chemicals. Its main feature is that it can provide a stable supply of 30 tons per month while minimizing environmental impact.
Because the fiber structure is utilized and micronized, it exhibits diverse functions as a binder, reinforcing material, thickener, and dispersion stabilizer, and is expected to be deployed in a wide range of fields such as paints, coating materials, pulp molds, personal care products, and construction materials.
It is also flexible enough to meet the user's application needs, such as ease of handling as a water dispersant (3 to 5%) and choice of raw materials (cotton linter, softwood pulp, recycled cellulose).
Uses with expected applications
- Material for protection against abrasives
- Raw materials for kneading into various resins
- Cosmetic supplements
Product name 02 Fibrimelt
Paper materials that go beyond paper-like qualities: Fibrimelt® functional molded paper
Fibrimelt® is a moldable paper material composed primarily of cellulose nanofibers (CNF).
It is characterized by the ability to add functions such as water resistance, chemical resistance, and high strength while taking advantage of the paper's original texture and workability.
The material offers a high degree of freedom in design, so we can propose optimal formulations for each application, such as CNF blending ratio, fiber fineness, and selection of additive materials.
Our products have been developed and adopted in various fields such as emergency medical gowns (AAMI PB70 compliant), mask materials, and structural materials for automobiles. We have received high acclaim as well as being met by surprise at what we can achieve.
Uses with expected applications
-
Medical gowns
-
Masks
-
Packaging materials and structural components
Product name 03 FM pellets
Hybrids of renewable materials x resin! Moldable composite material "FM pellets”
FM pellets are resin composites made by mixing cellulose and microfibril cellulose (MFC) with thermoplastic resins (mainly polypropylene).
They are made from paper-like composite (Fibrimelt) and combine the advantages of renewable materials with processability, such as injection molding.
It has been verified that the material exhibits the same or better properties as a general-purpose PP containing 10 wt% glass fiber (GF) while showing improved performance in tensile strength, flexural modulus, impact strength, and other properties.
In addition, simple recycling tests have demonstrated that it maintains high physical properties, and it is expected to be used in the automotive, electrical appliance, and daily necessities fields, which demand sustainability.
Uses with expected applications
-
Pellets
-
Automotive resin parts
