Washi paper for tatami mat surfaces
In response to the recent shortage of igusa (Japanese soft rush grass) used for tatami mats, we are producing a substitute product made from paper. A special resin coating is applied by one of our customers, Daiken Corporation, to give the tatami mats superior properties to those made from igusa. This product is rapidly closing the gap with igusa tatami mats in terms of market share.

Cellulose
Nano
Fiber
This is a cutting-edge biomass material made from wood-derived fiber (pulp) that has been micro-refined to the nano level. By using cellulose nanofibers as an additive, we are developing high-value-added products with ultra-fine fibers that are lightweight and highly durable. Going forward, we expect this product to be utilized in a wide range of applications.
